STORY

The Visual Comfort Fontaine Chandelier, designed by Aerin Lauder, is a vertical, multi-tiered pendant intended to be a sculptural source of ambient illumination. The design references mid-century lines with a contemporary vertical silhouette, making it suited to bedrooms and living spaces with height.

The chandelier features an asymmetrical arrangement of eight upright conical shades placed at staggered heights along a central stem and horizontal arms. It is offered in Aged Iron, Gilded Plaster and Plaster finishes, allowing the fixture to sit within warm or contrasted schemes.

Construction pairs a metal frame with soft white fabric shades; the metalwork is shown in a dark, aged-iron finish while the shades are a linen-like fabric that provides clean conical form. The fitting is suspended from a circular canopy by a matching metal chain.

Each upward-facing conical shade directs light towards the ceiling to produce an indirect ambient glow while the fabric diffuses light through the shade sides. The multi-tiered placement distributes illumination at different heights, creating balance and a soft atmosphere rather than a single harsh source.
