STORY

The Visual Comfort David Picture Light, designed by Thomas O'Brien for the David range, is a compact wall-mounted picture light intended for illuminating individual artworks, mirrors and framed pieces. Its 7‑inch width gives a modest footprint suited to portrait-sized compositions.

The fixture presents a horizontal, pill-shaped shade with semi-cylindrical end caps and a subtly curved front panel that meets flat top and bottom edges. It is available in an Antique Burnished Brass living finish that emphasises a weathered, antiqued texture.

Constructed from metal with a hand-applied brushed brass finish that displays natural tonal variation and a non-uniform patina, the design pairs substantial material thickness with precise detailing. A smaller rectangular mounting arm and backplate sit discretely behind and below the shade.

The broad, opaque metal shade shields the internal lamp and directs a controlled, downward wash of light onto the wall and artwork while preventing direct glare. The compact width makes it suitable for single portraits; placement should be determined by artwork size and mounting height.

This product is rated IP20 for indoor use. Lamps, driver and dimming compatibility are not specified here — confirm lamp type and dimming requirements at point of order. The fitting carries a 1 year warranty.
