STORY

The Visual Comfort Darlana Medium Pendant Lantern is a pendant ceiling light from the Darlana range, designed by Chapman & Myers. Its tapered geometric silhouette and open metal frame bring traditional lantern proportions into a refined, contemporary vocabulary suitable for kitchens, dining rooms and living areas.

The design uses a four-sided, tapered cage with a distinctive triangular loop detail where the frame meets the suspension. It is offered in Antique Brass, Aged Iron, Gilded Iron and Polished Nickel to suit a range of interiors.

Constructed in metal with thin square-profile rods, the fitting includes a matching chain and a 15.3cm round canopy; the fitting measures 62.3cm high and 43.2cm wide and weighs 5 kg. The suspension chain allows the drop to be adjusted on site for the required mounting height.

Light is provided by a central crossbar supporting four candelabra-style E14 sockets (maximum 4 × 60W). The open-frame construction gives unobstructed light output and visible lamp detail for a measured, atmospheric effect. The fitting is rated IP20 and is Class I, so it is for indoor dry locations and must be connected to protective earth.

The Darlana Medium is practical for siting over islands, dining tables or in entry spaces. It is supplied with a 6' chain and the round canopy noted above; dimming will depend on the lamps and dimmer you choose. For larger or tiered compositions the range offers complementary sizes and formats.
