STORY

The Visual Comfort Cotswold Lane Small Lantern is a wall-mounted outdoor lantern designed by Sean Lavin for Visual Comfort's Cotswold range. Its traditional English lantern form is intended for exterior walls such as entryways and patios, combining decorative detail with reliable exterior performance.

The design pairs a tapered hexagonal (or octagonal) glass cage with a tiered, fluted roof, dentil-like upper moulding and a pointed finial. A curved gooseneck arm and a rectangular backplate with clipped corners complete the classical silhouette finished in a uniform dark bronze tone.

Constructed from metal with clear glass panels, the lantern displays considered craft cues including a small floral medallion at the arm junction and stepped edging on the backplate. The clear glass provides high visibility of the internal lamp and a crisp, unobstructed light quality.

Internally the fitting uses two candelabra-style small-base sockets intended for decorative bulbs; the clear panels favour visible lamp types for a period-appropriate look. The product is IP44 rated for exterior use on vertical walls and carries a 1 year manufacturer warranty; refer to the manufacturer for recommended lamp ratings and installation guidance.
