STORY

Visual Comfort Charlton Wall Light, designed by Aerin Lauder for the Charlton range, is a decorative swing‑arm wall light intended for bedrooms, living rooms, kitchens and hallways. Its articulated arm and trumpet‑like bell shade create a mid‑century modern silhouette that pairs function with quiet elegance.

The fixture’s form is driven by movement: a slender arm with multiple pivot points and thumb‑screw locks lets you position light precisely. The shade flares from a narrow neck to a wide bell that directs light; the Charlton is available in Black, Antique Brass and White.

Constructed in metal, the fitting shows considered detailing — a circular backplate, a matching cord cover and a ring of small perforations at the shade neck that act as a decorative ventilation detail. The sconce weighs approximately 2.3 kg and mounts to a 13.4 cm round backplate.

Light is delivered through an E27 keyless socket with a manual toggle switch on the backplate, making this ideal for directional task or accent lighting. Overall width is 23.5 cm; extension ranges from 30.5 cm to 48.3 cm depending on arm position, and height varies between 19.1 cm and 36.9 cm. The fitting is IP20 and Class II — for indoor, dry‑zone use only.

Practical notes: specify an appropriate E27 lamp up to 60 W. A cord cover is included to tidy the drop. There is no separate driver or transformer; dimming capability depends on the chosen lamp and the room wiring. The product carries a 1 year manufacturer’s warranty.
