STORY

The Visual Comfort Chara Square Outdoor Wall Light, designed by Sean Lavin for the Chara range, is a metal, wall-mounted architectural fixture intended to deliver precise exterior illumination. Its severe cuboid form and clean planes give a monolithic, design-led presence on facades and external walls.

Formally the fitting is an upright rectangular column with a square cross-section that is cantilevered slightly forward from a flat rectangular mounting backplate. The design is explicitly minimal and geometric, and the range is offered in two sizes, Small and Large.

Construction is metal with a smooth, matte powder-coated surface that reads non-reflective and architectonic. The column sits flush to the backplate and is secured by a discreet set screw on the plate, reinforcing the fixture's seamless appearance.

The light source is a dedicated integrated LED, supplied within the fitting, with a reported CRI of 90. The recessed lower aperture produces a controlled downward beam while the symmetrical top and bottom geometry provides upward illumination for balanced up-and-down architectural accents and considered ambience.

The fitting is designed for hardwired installation to a standard electrical box via the backplate and is supplied with its integrated LED; it does not accept standard screw-based lamps.
