STORY

The Visual Comfort Calumn Pendant is a pendant ceiling light designed by Sean Lavin for Visual Comfort. The Calumn features an elongated cylindrical shade framed by a matte black metal U‑shaped arch, and measures 26 inches high by 7 inches wide for a tall, sculptural presence.

The arch frames the light source to create a window‑like aperture around the upper half of the cylinder and a clean vertical silhouette. A central black metal collar secures the shade to the arch, emphasising geometric balance and a minimalist aesthetic suitable for single fittings or repeated runs.

Constructed from metal with a smooth, non‑reflective finish, the frame and canopy have the appearance of a powder‑coat. The cylindrical diffuser is a white translucent material — frosted glass or acrylic — chosen to soften the lamp and reduce harsh glare.
