STORY

The Visual Comfort Calliope Tall Bath Light by Thomas O'Brien is a vertical wall-mounted bathroom light from the Calliope range. Its tall, linear silhouette and decorative detailing reference an Art Deco sensibility while remaining purely functional for bathrooms and vanity areas.

The design features a slim rectangular metal frame surrounding a central translucent white diffuser that runs the length of the fitting. The Calliope is offered in Polished Nickel, Antique Burnished Brass and Bronze, allowing you to pick a finish to suit classic or contemporary schemes.

Construction pairs a metal frame with a hand-applied living finish and a long frosted diffuser (glass or acrylic). The frame’s fluted end caps and small central finials give the fitting a crafted, architectural presence without unnecessary ornament.

Light is delivered as a soft, even band through the full-height diffuser; two internal light sources provide balanced illumination ideal for flanking a mirror or adding vertical emphasis in narrow bathroom walls. The tall proportions reduce shadowing at eye level and create a calm, consistent ambience.

The Calliope is designed for hardwired wall mounting. The standard product carries an IP20 rating; an IP44 version is available on request for increased splash protection. The manufacturer’s guidance recommends mounting sconces approximately 60"–65" from the floor to the centre of the backplate for even mirror illumination.
