STORY

The Visual Comfort Baxley Wall Sconce, designed by Alexa Hampton for Visual Comfort, is a decorative interior wall light that reads as an elongated, torch-like accent. It is intended for hardwired vertical mounting and provides ambient illumination for hallways, dressing areas or to flank mirrors.

Visually the Baxley emphasises verticality: a slender metal rod extends above and below a rectangular backplate, which is finished with a corrugated, ruffled border surrounding a smooth central panel. The fitting is offered in Polished Nickel and Burnished Brass to suit classic or contemporary palettes.

Construction is metal throughout with a refined finish and a small clear glass or crystal sphere at the lower terminal for a discreet, high-end detail. The shade is a single tapered fabric cone in a light cream or white tone that sits over the bulb.

The sconce accepts an E14 candelabra socket and is specified for use with a B11 lamp up to 60W; the shade is designed to diffuse the upward-facing bulb to reduce glare and create warm, balanced ambient light. Its slim footprint and 14.6cm projection make it suitable for narrow walls or beside mirrors.

Installation is as a hardwired wall fitting. Key dimensions are Height 53.3cm (minimum custom height 56.5cm), Width 14cm, Extension 14.6cm and a rectangular backplate 15.9cm. Shade dimensions are approximately 10.2cm x 14cm x 15.2cm. The fixture is rated IP20 for interior, dry-zone use. Bulbs are not included and the product carries a 1 year manufacturer warranty.
