STORY

The Visual Comfort Axis Picture Light, designed by Kelly Wearstler, is a wall-mounted picture light intended to illuminate artwork and mirrors. The Axis range is presented in a restrained, geometric language and is shown here with an Antique-Burnished Brass surface; one commonly seen length is approximately 18 inches while multiple sizes and finishes are offered.

The design pairs a long, slim cylindrical light tube with a slim rectangular backplate, joined by a fixed horizontal arm and a square-profile collar that secures the tube at its centre. The horizontal orientation is particularly suited to landscape-oriented frames or a run above a series of smaller works. Available finishes include Bronze, Polished Nickel and Antique-Burnished Brass; sizes include Small, Medium and Large.

The fitting is constructed from metal with the Antique-Burnished Brass finish showing a soft, matte golden-bronze tone and a subtle aged patina. The backplate sits flush to the wall and the square collar provides a precise architectural junction between arm and tube.

The cylindrical housing contains an integrated light source that emits through an aperture along the underside, delivering focused, downward illumination to enhance detail without excessive spill. The fixed projection and even underside aperture are designed to provide consistent coverage for flat wall displays and picture frames.

The Axis picture light has an IP20 rating and is therefore suitable for internal, dry locations. The fitting is supplied as a wall-mounted unit; driver, transformer and dimming arrangements vary by variant, so consult the technical specifications or contact us for specific wiring and dimming compatibility.
