STORY

The Visual Comfort Asalea Solitaire Flush Mount, designed by Aerin Lauder for Visual Comfort, is a surface-mounted ceiling light from the Asalea range. It pairs a stepped metal canopy with a single prominent bell-shaped glass shade to deliver ambient overhead illumination in interior spaces.

Formally, the fixture places a clear, vertically fluted glass shade at the centre of a circular metal mounting plate. The shade’s tapering fluting and exposed profile create a refined silhouette. The Asalea Solitaire is offered in Polished Nickel and Hand-Rubbed Antique Brass finishes.

Construction combines metal hardware with a clear ribbed glass shade. The canopy and internal stems are metal finished to match the chosen finish, while the shade is clear glass with vertical fluting that meets the metal at the top of the shade.

Light is produced from three internal vertical stems configured for candelabra-style bulbs; the bulbs are visually exposed through the clear fluted glass. The ribbing refracts light to soften direct glare while maintaining clarity and presence, making the fitting suitable as a primary ambient source in hallways, living rooms and bedrooms where a low-profile ceiling fixture is preferred. The product carries an IP22 rating for general indoor use.
