STORY

Visual Comfort Antigua Sconce is a decorative wall light from the Antigua range, designed by Chapman & Myers for Visual Comfort. The design references natural materials and sculptural form to deliver ambient, decorative illumination for interior walls.

The sconce's hourglass-inspired silhouette features a wide, flared upper section and a tiered base. The shade is formed from vertical abaca cords wrapped around an internal frame, creating a ribbed texture and a linear arrangement that reads as both architectural and tactile.

Construction combines a concealed internal frame with natural abaca fibre for the shade and metal for the structural components. The base comprises three stacked, concentric tiers that provide a sturdy visual foundation and a distinctive geometric profile.

An internal light source sits within the upper section and diffuses outward through the abaca strands, producing a warm, filtered glow and a subtle pattern of light and shadow. The effect is suited to ambient wall lighting where atmosphere and texture are important.

The Antigua Sconce is designed for hardwired wall installation and carries an IP20 rating, so it is intended for interior use only.
