STORY

The Visual Comfort Antigua Pendant, designed by Chapman and Myers, is a ceiling pendant from the Antigua range that pairs a tiered, architectural shade with polished metalwork for considered interior ambient lighting.

The shade reads as a three‑tiered, pagoda‑like silhouette: a top cylindrical segment, a slightly wider middle band and a large flared base. Vertically wound rope creates a rhythmic texture with subtle horizontal banding at the tier transitions, emphasising the fixture's vertical form.

The shade is formed from natural‑toned fibre rope tightly wrapped around a rigid internal frame. Hardware including the circular ceiling canopy, suspension chain and internal socket housing is finished in a brushed gold tone, introducing a refined contrast to the organic fibre.

Light is delivered from a central bulb socket housed within the shade so illumination is gently diffused through the woven rope for a warm, ambient effect. The design is primarily decorative ambient lighting intended for interior spaces.

Installation is straightforward: a circular metal canopy secures to the ceiling and a link suspension chain connects to the shade via a small triangular loop; the chain allows hanging height to be adjusted during installation. The pendant carries an IP20 rating and a one year manufacturer warranty.
