The Design For The People Align Table Lamp by Maria Berntsen is a contemporary table lamp from the Align range. Its sculptural profile and simple language reference classic Scandinavian form while remaining wholly contemporary; it is intended for interior surfaces such as desks, sideboards and bedside tables.

The lamp’s form is defined by a large hemispherical dome made from two overlapping shade segments and a tall, tapering conical base. The outer segment is movable so the shade can be rotated to alter the direction and visual profile of the light. The design is offered in a range of finishes and is shown here in a satin‑soft matte black.

Construction emphasises a clean, minimal aesthetic: a solid, tall conical base supports the overhanging dome and a small circular brass pivot provides the mechanical connection for the adjustable outer shade. A discreet black power cord exits the lower portion of the base.

Light is delivered by the adjustable shade assembly so the Align works as both ambient and task lighting depending on how the outer segment is positioned. The design is compatible with standard E27 lamps (G45 bulbs are suitable); rotating the outer shade redirects output and refines glare and shadow for surface tasks.
