Marset Discoco Pendant

The Marset Discoco Pendant is a sculptural ceiling pendant designed by Christophe Mathieu for Marset. Part of the Discoco range, this pendant translates mid‑century sculptural language into a three‑dimensional volume that works as a decorative centerpiece while providing interior illumination.

The Discoco is built from multiple concentric layers of flat circular discs arranged to form a pinecone‑like silhouette. The tiered form controls sightlines to the lamp and is offered in a range of appearance variants to suit different interior schemes.

This model is made up of 35 opaque ABS discs mounted on a polished chrome sphere and supported by thin metal arms radiating from a central core. The pendant hangs from a discreet thin transparent or white power cord with a separate tension wire to hold the geometric form.

The layered discs shield the internal light source so the fixture delivers a diffused, indirect glow that reduces glare. Light filters through the gaps between discs, catching the metallic surfaces of some finishes and emphasising the tiered construction.
