Lodes Cima Floor Lamp

The Lodes Cima Floor Lamp is a tension-mounted ceiling-to-floor light that translates nautical function into a refined interior fixture. Inspired by the jam cleats used on sailing boats, Cima pairs a taut rope with a sliding joint and counterweight to offer a highly flexible, directional light source for interiors.

Formally, Cima is pared back and linear: a slender braided rope runs between a small ceiling eyelet and an elongated cylindrical base, while a compact cylindrical spotlight and bracket slide vertically along the rope. The lamp’s black metal elements contrast with the rope, which is offered in three vibrant finishes to introduce subtle colour accents.

Construction is intentionally honest. The rope is a braided/twisted metal cable and the head and base are finished in matte black metal, with a heavy cylindrical base acting as the counterweight that keeps the cable taut and stable. The simple geometry keeps the overall silhouette minimal and precise.

The compact spotlight head provides directional accent or task illumination and can be tilted and repositioned along the rope to control angle and height. The design creates focussed light with a small floor footprint, suitable for considered accent or reading tasks within dry interior spaces.

Installation requires a secure ceiling fixing to take the top suspension eyelet; the weighted base forms the tensioning system and manages any excess rope.
