Foscarini Twiggy Floor Lamp, designed by Marc Sadler, is an arced floor lamp that suspends a large drum diffuser to provide direct task light beneath and a soft ambient glow around a seating or dining area.

The design pairs a slender, flexible rod with a wide, high-reaching arc so the shade can be positioned centrally over furniture while the base remains unobtrusive. The support structure is finished in a uniform black coating, contrasting with the shade’s natural, light-beige appearance and fine horizontal grain-like texture.

The rod and diffuser are made from a fibreglass-based composite material and are liquid coated for a refined surface. The round base is metal with an epoxy powder coat for stability and durability, and the diffuser combines a translucent polycarbonate upper disc with a PMMA lower disc featuring a polyprismatic internal surface.

Light is delivered by a double-sided LED board mounted on an aluminium disc and protected by a small PMMA cap. The large drum shade has an open base for directed downward lighting while the upper diffuser elements allow a degree of upward diffusion for a balanced ambience. The lamp is intended for indoor, dry zones (IP20).

The lamp is supplied with four counterweights which sit in a purpose-provided seat above the diffuser to help balance and fine-tune the height of the arc. A transparent cable includes an inline dimmer that functions both as the dimmer and the on/off switch. Additional arc-extending rods are available on request to increase reach.

No. The lamp has an IP20 rating and is intended for indoor, dry areas only; it is not suitable for bathrooms or exterior locations.
