Foscarini Tress Wall Light

The Foscarini Tress Wall Light, designed by Marc Sadler for the Tress range, is a sculptural wall washer that pairs an architectural silhouette with a woven, tape-like skin. Its cylindrical form and open-weave middle section create a striking graphic effect while delivering indirect, semi-diffused illumination.

Formally the fixture is a vertical cylinder with solid top and bottom rims and an intersecting, ribbon-like lattice around the middle. The Tress is offered in two sizes and is available in Black and White finishes, allowing it to read either as a bold architectural accent or a subtler textural detail.

The diffuser is a fibreglass-based composite modelled to resemble overlapping tapes, then finished with a uniform matte liquid coating. The wall mounting plate and internal mount are constructed from aluminium and a powder-coated die-cast zamak housing, giving the piece structural stability while concealing the lighting technology.

Light filters through the irregular apertures in the woven section, producing a scenic pattern of light and shadow while providing a soft, indirect wash across the wall. The semi-transparent middle section acts as the primary diffuser, balancing ambience and clarity without direct glare.

The Tress is designed for flush wall mounting; the internal housing is arranged to sit close to the wall and to contain the lighting components. It carries an IP20 rating suitable for interior dry zones and is offered in two sizes to suit different elevations and proportions.
