Foscarini Tress Grande Pendant

The Foscarini Tress Grande Pendant, designed by Marc Sadler for the Tress range, is a suspension pendant that reads as both a light and a sculptural object. The shade is formed by winding a fibreglass-based composite ribbon into an interwoven pattern of blocks and voids, producing a large, slightly tapered cylindrical profile.

Its open-weave construction lets light filter through the sides while an open base gives direct downward illumination. The Grande model is suspended by three stainless steel cables; the fitting is available in Greige, Black and White finishes.

Construction uses a composite ribbon that is modelled and then liquid coated to finish the surface. The large version incorporates an internal blown glass diffuser with an acid-etched finish, plus a satin opaline glass upper screen and a chromed metal frame. The ceiling canopy has a galvanised metal bracket and a glossy chromed ABS cover.

The Tress Grande delivers a soft, diffused side glow from the woven shade together with focused downward light from the open underside, making it effective as ambient and directed illumination in larger spaces. The interplay of solid ribbons and voids gives the lamp a textured, sculptural presence even when unlit.

Installation for the Grande version uses three structural stainless steel suspension cables alongside a transparent, deliberately wavy electrical cable. A canopy decentralisation kit is available for multi-pendant layouts (up to 6 or 9 pendants). The fitting is rated IP20 for indoor use and carries a one-year warranty.
