Foscarini Sun - Light of Love Pendant

Foscarini Sun - Light of Love Pendant, designed by Tord Boontje for the Sun range, is a sculptural suspension light that references the sun with a dense, geometric yet fluid silhouette. The lamp is intended for interior settings where a statement fitting also provides atmospheric, diffused illumination.

The design is formed from approximately 390 thin, blade‑like rays that radiate from a concealed central hub to create a textured globe. The body is offered in matt finishes, including matt white and matt gold, and is suspended from a three‑point cable system that preserves the pendant's balanced presence.

Construction uses cold‑pressed steel for the rays, mechanically joined to the central body, with a uniform matt powder coat applied to the metal parts. The high density of the blades gives the sphere a precise, sculptural edge while retaining an organic outline.

The pendant houses a double light source in the central hub so light is directed downwards and diffused upwards through the gaps between the rays, producing a soft, ambient glow and a complex interplay of light and shadow. The fitted LED specification is 32W, 2700 K, 3170 lm, CRI >90 configured for On–Off control.

Installation uses a three‑point suspension with thin steel support cables and a central transparent electrical cord. The lamp is rated IP20 and intended for interior use only. LED is included and the product carries a one‑year manufacturer warranty.
