Foscarini Madre Table Lamp

The Foscarini Madre Table Lamp, designed by Andrea Anastasio, is a sculptural table lamp that combines a luminous glass body with a concealed top vessel. Its silhouette references fertility-goddess forms, giving the piece a generous, rounded presence that reads as both light and object.

Madre’s bulbous form is interrupted by a precise circular void through the centre, creating a striking focal point where internal and external light meet. The upper hollow accepts dry branches, so the lamp functions as both an ambient light and a small decorative vase.

The body is hand-blown glass with an etched, frosted finish that diffuses light evenly. The top compartment is opaline borosilicate glass and the centre cutout is achieved with a high-pressure water-jet for precision. The internal LED board is protected by an opaline polycarbonate disc; the lamp is supplied with a light grey electrical cable and inline dimmer.

A built-in multichip LED provides a soft, diffused ambient glow through the etched glass while the central opening animates the light and shadow. The supplied LED is specified as 16W, 2700K, 1445lm with CRI >80 and the included dimmer allows simple adjustment of ambience. The effect suits living rooms, bedrooms and other interior zones where a calm, balanced glow is required.

The lamp includes its integrated LED and an inline dimmer on the cable; no separate bulb is required. The top hollow is designed for dry decorative branches only — the use of liquids is explicitly forbidden. With an IP20 rating the Madre is for indoor, dry locations and it carries a one year manufacturer warranty.
