Foscarini Dolmen Floor Lamp

The Foscarini Dolmen Floor Lamp, designed by Ferruccio Laviani, is a sculptural LED floor lamp intended to rest against a wall. Launched as a concept in the 1990s and updated for LED, it combines architectural form with an artful presence, offering both direct and reflected illumination.

Dolmen's form reads like a minimalist panel: a slender, monolithic rectangle with a clean, geometric silhouette and four circular 'porthole' diffusers arranged vertically. The diffusers sit flush with the aluminium surface, creating a calm, graphic statement that functions as a focal element in a room.

The lamp is manufactured from a laser-cut sheet of aluminium that is bent and hand-finished; the metal is anodised and protected with a transparent liquid varnish. The light-emitting apertures use opaline PMMA diffusers and a transparent PMMA plate, with multichip LEDs mounted on the frame's long sides to shape the output.

Light is delivered in two ways: direct, through the front portholes, and as reflected ambience cast onto the wall behind the lamp. The supplied LED module is warm at 2700K, specified at 47W and delivering a high lumen output with CRI above 90; a transparent dimmer is included so you can tune the warmth and balance of the light to suit the setting.

Dolmen is designed to be installed by resting it against a vertical surface and requires a small canopy holder for secure wall anchoring; a transparent electrical cable and the dimmer are supplied. The fitting is rated IP20 and comes with a one-year manufacturer warranty.
