STORY

The Foscarini Caboche Suspension Lamp, designed by Eliana Gerotto and Patricia Urquiola for the Caboche range, transforms light into a sparkling ring of transparent spheres and serves as a decorative suspension pendant.

The lamp's toroidal form is wrapped in densely arranged transparent spheres, producing a beaded, jewel‑like surface. It is offered in Grey and Clear appearance options to suit different schemes.

Construction combines clear PMMA (acrylic) spheres mounted onto transparent polycarbonate (PC) arches, with internal powder‑coated steel sheets housing the lighting assembly. An aluminium disc acts as a heat dissipator and a white ceiling canopy anchors the three‑point suspension.

Light is delivered as gentle, diffused ambient illumination: the spheres refract and multiply the source while a satin‑finish PMMA diffuser at the base limits direct glare. The design incorporates a double‑sided LED board specifically developed by Foscarini for even distribution.

Practical notes: the fixture uses a three‑point steel cable suspension that can be adjusted at installation. The product is rated IP20 for indoor use and includes an opaline PMMA disc protecting the top of the LED assembly. An electric decentralisation kit is available as an accessory.
