Foscarini Big Bang Pendant

Foscarini Big Bang Pendant is a sculptural suspension light designed by Enrico Franzolini and Vicente Garcia Jimenez. The Big Bang range plays with intersecting planes and a dramatic exploded geometry to create a strong architectural focal point; the design is realised in translucent methacrylate and powder‑coated metal.

The fixture’s form is an irregular assembly of interlocking rectangular and polygonal slabs that slot together via purpose‑designed couplings. The result is a deconstructed volume that casts layered shadow and provides both direct downward illumination and soft ambient diffusion. The pendant is offered in Red and White finish options.

Construction combines translucent methacrylate slabs with an internal powder‑coated metal plate that serves as the mounting structure. In the red version the external faces are silk‑screened and coloured. The planes are retained by precision cut couplings so there are no visible face fixings.

The Big Bang delivers a dual effect: direct light beneath the fitting and diffused light through the layered methacrylate, creating a considered interplay of light and shadow. Its sculptural character makes it suitable as a focal pendant in living spaces, dining areas or reception zones where IP20 interior ratings are appropriate.

Installation uses a thin stainless steel suspension cable with a separate transparent electrical cord and a canopy with galvanised metal bracket and powder‑coated cover. A canopy decentralisation kit is available; technical details such as lamp type, driver and dimming compatibility should be confirmed from the product technical sheet.
