STORY

The CVL Luminaires Storm Table Lamp, designed by Emilie Cathelineau, reinterprets the classic storm lamp as a considered table light. Its vertical oval silhouette and suspended central diffuser give a quiet, architectural presence for interior ambient lighting.

The design is defined by two continuous curved metal bars forming an elongated oval, with a cylindrical diffuser suspended from a matching top cap. The open-frame composition creates a floating effect for the internal light pillar and is available in a wide range of polished and satin metal finishes.

Construction pairs a dark, brushed metal frame with a translucent white central cylinder to balance rigid form and soft illumination. The assembly sits on a flat circular base with a raised central hub that anchors the oval frame and mirrors the top cap finish.

The lamp houses its light source within the central cylinder so illumination is delivered as a focused, diffused glow rather than a direct beam, reducing glare while preserving ambience. Its open-frame design keeps visual lightness, making the Storm suitable for tables, desks and bedside stands.
