CVL Luminaires Solitaire Floor Lamp is a sculptural floor lamp designed by Emilie Cathelineau for CVL Luminaires. The Solitaire pairs an origami‑inspired faceted shade with a slender tripod base, referencing modern minimalism with refined metallic accents. It is intended for indoor ambient or task lighting and works equally as a functional light source and a visual centrepiece.
The design is offered in Small and Large sizes and can be specified in numerous metal finishes and two‑tone combinations. The shade is available in Black Chinette and White Chinette, enabling different levels of contrast and diffusion depending on the chosen finish and scale.
Construction features three slender metal legs that converge at a central collar and terminate in polished metallic ferrules, which add a refined detail to the tripod footprint. The shade is formed from multiple triangular planes to create a faceted, geometric profile that reads as a crafted object in the room.
The faceted shade is open at the top and bottom, producing a dual‑direction light cast (up‑light and down‑light) while the sculpted geometry softens and diffuses the output. That combination makes the lamp suitable for ambient illumination and for task‑adjacent uses where a considered pool of light is required.
