STORY

The CVL Luminaires Paradoxe Chandelier, designed by Emilie Cathelineau, is a ceiling-mounted decorative light that pairs a disciplined metal structure with flowing illuminated loops. The Paradoxe reads as a sculptural centrepiece, intended to act as a primary interior light source where a balanced ambient wash is required.

Formally the chandelier uses a radial arrangement of five horizontal spokes emerging from a central hub, with five looping, translucent light tubes that descend and return to vertical metal cylinders at each spoke end. A sixth vertical tube drops from the hub to create a central focal element. The fitting is offered in Satin Brass, Satin Graphite, Satin Nickel and Satin Copper.

Construction is metal throughout for the canopy, stem, spokes and end cylinders, with thin tension wires providing additional support to the outer cylinders while maintaining an airy, minimalist silhouette. The diffusers are matte white and appear flexible, suggesting silicone or acrylic material for a soft, continuous surface along each loop.

Light is delivered by integrated LED tubes running the length of each curve, producing uniform, glare-reduced illumination ideal for ambient and decorative use. The combination of rigid spokes and flexible luminous loops gives an even, eye-friendly light distribution and a considered sculptural presence over dining tables, living areas or entrance spaces.

The Paradoxe mounts directly to a ceiling electrical box via its circular canopy and is intended for hardwired installation. Specifics such as driver inclusion, dimming compatibility and detailed electrical ratings are not stated here; please consult the technical documentation or contact Lighting Design Online for specification assistance.

At Lighting Design Online we position the Paradoxe as a considered choice when a room needs both a strong visual identity and reliable ambient illumination. Our guidance focuses on how the piece performs in real interiors, supporting material and finish choices and providing practical, project-friendly advice to achieve clarity and longevity in the result.
