STORY

The CVL Luminaires Calee Floor Lamp, designed by Duo Pool for CVL Luminaires, is a freestanding floor lamp that pairs a slender vertical stem with a wide drum shade to create a considered, contemporary presence. The design is intended for interior spaces where balanced ambient and directed light are required.

Formally the lamp uses an unconventional horizontal cylindrical base with an off-centre vertical stem to create a minimalist, sculptural silhouette. The Calee is offered in Satin Graphite, Satin Brass, Satin Nickel and Polished Brass finishes and is available in Small and Large sizes; certain variants are also offered in Satin Copper.

The frame and base are metal with a warm brushed finish, contrasted by a matte black exterior drum shade. The end face of the horizontal base shows a circular brushed texture, reinforcing the tactile, crafted quality of the piece. A discrete black power cord exits from the rear of the base.

The light source sits within the drum shade and is designed to cast light both upwards and downwards, making the lamp suitable for ambient illumination or for focused task light in reading corners and living areas. The horizontal base provides stability for the freestanding fitting.

The Calee is supplied as a plug-in floor lamp with a standard electrical cord; please note lamps are not specified here. The lamp comes with a two-year manufacturer warranty and is straightforward to position where sculptural form and layered lighting are needed.
