Buster and Punch 1G Plastic Dry Lining Back Box

The Buster and Punch 1G Plastic Dry Lining Back Box is a single-gang recessed enclosure designed to accept switches and sockets in plasterboard or hollow wall constructions. This model is supplied as part of an ENVIROGRAF dry lining & gasket set and includes pre-fitted intumescent gaskets providing one hour of fire protection where required.

Formally the box is moulded in white ABS plastic with a square outer flange and a recessed internal cavity to sit neatly behind a finished wall face. The unit is distinguished by its two blue side-mounting lugs which tighten with screws to clamp the box securely to the reverse side of the dry lining, giving a reliable fixing for faceplates.

Internally the back box includes brass threaded screw inserts for secure attachment of a faceplate and a selection of circular and rectangular knock-outs for cable entry. Grey intumescent gaskets are pre-fitted along the top and bottom interior edges and the moulding carries embossed markings including BS5733, the CE mark and an ABS material code.

As an accessory this back box provides a neat, recessed mounting for electrical accessories and helps maintain wall fire integrity where specified. Use it where a single-gang recess is required in drywall; the brass inserts accept standard faceplate screws and the side lugs allow a straightforward dry lining installation.
