Anglepoise Original 1227 Giant Floor Lamp

The Anglepoise Original 1227 Giant Floor Lamp is a scaled-up interpretation of George Carwardine's Original 1227 design. Hand-built in the United Kingdom, this oversized articulated floor lamp reads as both a functional light and an illuminated sculpture. It is designed to deliver adjustable, directional light across a large reach.

The lamp uses a cantilever arm construction with multiple pivot joints, exposed tension springs and black wing-nut adjustment knobs that allow precise positioning. A large bell-shaped metal shade measures ⌀45cm with a height of 47cm and sits on a substantial 45 x 45cm base. Available finishes include Jet Black, Marine Blue, Slate Grey and Jet Black & Satin Finish.

Constructed from metal components throughout, the lamp has a heavy square base with small caster wheels for gentle repositioning and visible chrome-finished springs for counterbalanced movement. The articulated arms and robust fittings reflect traditional mechanical detailing and are hand-assembled in the UK. Cable length is 450cm.

With a maximum horizontal reach of 200cm and a wide-aperture shade, the Giant delivers focused, directional light suitable for task work or as a dramatic ambient feature.
