A-Emotional Light Aimei Pendant Lamp

The A-Emotional Light Aimei Pendant Lamp, designed by Arturo Álvarez, is a sculptural ceiling pendant that interprets an anatomical, rib-like motif. The piece reads as both a functional interior light and a considered decorative centrepiece, its form inspired by the spine and ribs with a protected central ‘heart’ where the light sits.

Formally, Aimei is composed of numerous thin linear slats arranged in a spiralling, rib-cage-like formation around a central sphere. The rhythmic repetition of slats and the concentric internal rings that support them produce a sense of movement and layered depth.

Construction cues include a light-toned, natural wood-grain finish on the outer slats and a nested spherical white diffuser at the core. The slats are mounted to internal concentric rings that define the curved, skeletal geometry and visual openness of the design.

Light is delivered from the central diffuser, which is partially obscured by the outer ribs. The slatted arrangement fragments and diffuses the output, creating an interplay of warmth, shadow and gentle ambient illumination across surrounding surfaces.

The pendant is suspended by thin, dark-coloured aircraft cables together with an integrated electrical cord and is intended for fixed ceiling installation.
