Flos Romeo Suspension Pendant

The Flos Romeo Suspension Pendant, designed by Philippe Starck as part of the Romeo range, is a ceiling-mounted pendant that pairs a clear, flared glass shade with an internal acid-etched diffuser to deliver soft ambient and downward light for interior residential and commercial spaces.

Its form is defined by a truncated cone-shaped outer shade with continuous vertical ribbing and a refined double-diffuser system. The design uses three perimeter suspension cables together with a separate central power cord, producing a lightweight, balanced profile and a low-profile white ceiling canopy.

Construction combines a pressed clear glass outer shade with an acid-etched pressed borosilicate glass internal diffuser. The diffuser sits on an injection-moulded transparent polycarbonate support with a stamped polycarbonate dust screen; the canopy is white injection-moulded ABS with a galvanised pressed steel ceiling fitting and supplied steel suspension cable.

The ribbed outer glass refracts light while the inner acid-etched diffuser conceals the bulb to reduce direct glare and create a soft, even glow. The pendant accepts an E27 lamp (lamp not included) and is specified with an IP20 rating for indoor use.

Installation notes: the fitting is supplied with steel suspension cable and the ceiling rose and mounting hardware. Dimming and final light quality depend on the chosen mains-voltage lamp and any external dimmer; check lamp type and dimmer compatibility when specifying.
