CVL Luminaires Upper Floor Lamp

The CVL Luminaires Upper Floor Lamp, designed by Hervé Langlais, is a tall, architectural floor light that reads like a sculptural object as well as a source of ambient illumination. The design channels Manhattan skyscraper silhouettes and is shown here with metal stems in a satin brass appearance and a large cream drum shade.

The lamp is formed from three vertical, straight metal tubes arranged in a close cluster that extend through and above the shade, giving extreme verticality and a distinctive stepped profile. The Upper is offered in a wide range of finishes to suit different interior schemes.

Construction centres on a flat circular metal base supported on three small spherical feet, which provides discreet stability for the narrow, tall frame. The tubes pass through the shade and terminate at staggered heights, a deliberate architectural detail that becomes part of the composition.

The off-white cylindrical drum shade is translucent, designed to diffuse light from an internal bulb and produce a warm, even ambient glow while softening direct glare.
