In ground path markers

In ground path markers

In-ground (also called in-grade or well) fixtures mount flush with the ground surface, eliminating any above-ground obstruction while clearly defining path edges. They're particularly effective for modern landscapes where minimalism is desired, and for areas where mowers or foot traffic might impact raised fixtures.

Complex Mid-Range
Approach Detail

Install in-ground fixtures along path edges, typically 6-8 feet apart. Bury fixtures in proper housings with drainage provisions. Use fixtures rated for foot traffic (drive-over rated if in driveways). Position to wash light across path surface. Low output (50-100 lumens) is typically sufficient. Consider directional baffles to limit glare when approaching.

Key Fixtures

In-ground/in-grade fixtures; well lights; drive-over rated ground fixtures; directional in-ground markers

Designer Notes

Night view of path with in-ground fixtures visible as subtle glowing circles. Show the flush installation at ground level. Display light washing across path surface. Minimal, modern landscape design. Include plantings along path edge. No above-ground fixtures visible. Clean, architectural aesthetic. Show path curving with lights following edge.

Best For
Minimalist and contemporary landscapes; paths with mowing along edges; high-traffic areas where bollards might be kicked; formal designs wanting invisible light sources.
