Ceiling-mounted or desk-level photosensors continuously measure light levels, automatically dimming electric lighting when daylight is abundant and increasing output when skies darken or at end of day.

Install ceiling photosensors facing window orientation. Program proportional dimming maintaining 500 lux desk target. Use open-loop (ceiling sensing) or closed-loop (desk sensing) control. Minimum dim level 10% to maintain presence. Commission with different sky conditions. Provide manual override.
